in vs2013, find irritating jumps wildly through current source file places matching incomplete entry, while typing - prefer if did nothing @ until completed entry , hit enter (and if finds nothing, scroll position in file not changed).

i couldn't find option under "tools/options..." looks helps there.

no, there no user setting that, sadly.

instead, however, consider using shift ctrl+f (find in files). not obvious choice, i've started prefer gets rid of leaping , can anyway useful see list of occurrences before losing scroll position (whether or not finds anything).
